Honest Henley - Navy

$90.00 USD

Like many menswear staples, the Henley started as an undergarment. But around the mid-1800s the Henley, defined as a collarless pullover shirt with a placket incorporating two or more buttons, started showing up on athletic fields. It’s most notable appearance was on the rowing teams in the English community of Henley-on-Thames. Over the many years of holding the Royal Regatta, the Henley shirt was incorporated into the standard rowing uniform. And it stayed that way until the 70s when, like most of menswear, uncle Ralph “re-discovered” it. Today there are a lot of producers of the Henley, but our friend Mike at Runabout Goods takes it to another level. Circular knit, with fabric wrapped buttons, and flat lock stitching throughout, this is a Henley your granddad would be proud to wear.
