Batten-Down Vest - Olive
Story:
Growing up in the shadow of the sierras and Yosemite as my back yard, I have found memories of the clothing I saw folks wear when I was growing up. Long before folks designed "technical outdoor clothing" Most folks used natural materials and military surplus. Arguably the first technical fabric was something cooked up by a Berkeley company called Sierra Designs.
Our friends at Battenwear are fans, too. So I was stoked to hear they were making a vest that made use of, a made in USA 60/40 fabric that reminds us a lot of those vintage mountain parkas. This 60/40 promises to age well, developing new traits and characteristics as you wear the item for years to come. This vest was designed to go the extra mile for you. With a 720 fill power of 85/15 duck down (85% down, 15% feather), it’s lightweight while being super warm. And, as if being cozy and protected from the elements weren’t enough, the Batten-Down Vest happens to look pretty great too, making it as suitable in the city as on your next journey into the wilderness.
